Joan Boevers, MA

Pre-licensed Counselor (she/her)

Starting therapy takes courage, and if you’re here, you may be feeling stuck, carrying something heavy, or ready for change. I’m here to offer empathy, support, and practical tools to help you move forward at your own pace.

I work with children (8+), teens, and adults facing grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relational challenges. With younger clients, I use creative, age-appropriate methods, and I also support parents in understanding how grief may show up developmentally.

My approach is collaborative, flexible, and person-centered, drawing from cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and existential therapies. I tailor each session to your unique needs, and believe humor, used thoughtfully, can be a powerful part of healing.

I aim to create a welcoming space where you feel safe, seen, and empowered. Together, we’ll build insight, resilience, and hope for the future.

With experience across schools, higher education, and in-home work, I understand how emotional challenges and healing evolve over time. If you're ready to take the first step, I’d be honored to walk with you.
